Best thing in the cheong fun is the egg. The cheong fun itself is half raw, the soy sauce doesn't match, and the sambal tastes like ebi plus coarse sugar.

Handmade cheung fun stall at Tiong Bahru Market with silky rice rolls
Grandpa Homemade Cheung Fun is a steamed rice roll stall at Tiong Bahru Market and Food Centre, known for its handmade cheung fun that is silky smooth and delicately thin. The stall is operated by an elderly hawker who prepares the rice batter and steams each roll fresh, ensuring the tender, slightly chewy texture that distinguishes freshly made cheung fun from mass-produced versions. The menu includes classic fillings such as char siew, prawns, and mushrooms, each wrapped in the soft rice sheet and drizzled with a combination of sweet sauce, sesame oil, and chilli. The Tiong Bahru Market location at #02-32 places the stall in one of Singapore's most charming and heritage-rich neighbourhoods, where the food centre is a focal point for both residents and food enthusiasts. Grandpa Homemade Cheung Fun has gained recognition for its commitment to the traditional handmade method, a time-consuming process that yields a noticeably superior product. The stall represents the dedication of Singapore's older generation of hawkers to preserving traditional food crafts.Based on 169 Google reviews

Followed this stall from Toa Payoh to Tiong Bahru — personally my favourite and best Chee Cheong Fun I've had, and I can eat this for breakfast weekly! So silky!

Excellent century egg congee — great flavour and mouth-feel (not like rice flour paste). Cheung fun very fresh with nice sweet soy sauce. Note: the stall is in a hawker centre so there's communal seating. Would definitely go back.

Had the veg and egg option ($4.50) and prawn option ($5.20). The portions were quite big, so I was super full for lunch. Next time, I will only order one.
