Second-generation rice dumpling stall at Hong Lim, known for pork dumplings with salted egg.
Hiong Kee Dumplings is a second-generation rice dumpling stall at Hong Lim Market and Food Centre, hand-wrapping traditional bak chang with a dedication that has kept queues steady for years. The signature pork dumpling with salted egg is the standout, filled with tender lean pork, crunchy chestnuts, mushrooms, and a whole salted egg yolk, all encased in glutinous rice that is well-seasoned and firm. The nonya dumpling offers a sweeter, more spice-laden alternative, while the kee chang, an alkaline rice dumpling typically eaten with kaya or sugar, is a rare breakfast item that often sells out by lunchtime. A house-made chilli sauce, blending dried prawns, chilli, and sugar, ties the flavours together and is frequently praised as the best accompaniment. Hiong Kee's commitment to generous fillings and quality ingredients at honest prices has made it a trusted name for rice dumplings in Chinatown.

Was searching for a decent traditional rice dumpling n a foodie friend recommended Hiong Kee. I never knew about this stall, so I went last week to buy a few home to try. The q was relatively long, but fast. It the best I had so far(compared to the popular Kim choo n Dian xiao er). Went there this morning to buy 40pcs to give away to friends n neighbors. Good stuff must share! The lady at the stall was super friendly and patient.
