Prata with signature sambal berlada at Tekka Centre
Jom Makan: Prata Saga Sambal Berlada is a prata stall at Tekka Centre in Little India, combining the Indian Muslim staple of roti prata with a signature Malay-style sambal berlada condiment. The stall serves freshly made prata in various styles, including plain, egg, and onion versions, all flipped and cooked on a hot griddle to achieve a crispy exterior and soft, layered interior. What sets the stall apart is its sambal berlada, a relish made from blended fresh chillies, shallots, and lime juice that provides a bright, tangy heat distinct from the traditional fish or mutton curry accompaniment. Located in Tekka Centre, a market deeply rooted in Singapore's Indian-Muslim food culture, Jom Makan adds a creative twist to the standard prata offering by introducing its sambal-centric approach to a traditional breakfast and supper favourite.Operating Hours

The line was long but the prata was tasty. Compared to the one next door, also with a long line, this was less crispy but much more savory. The mutton curry was good.

Paid total $3 for a plain and egg prata. The plain prata can taste a bit of crispiness on the skin. The mutton curry was better than the fish curry as it was more flavoured and thicker. The sambal chilli was ok. Service was friendly and efficient. The old lady boss was cheerful while serving and she used scissors to cut the pratas.

Most epic prata banjir I’ve ever had. Plain onion, plus egg onion, scissor cut, then drenched in rich mutton curry. The prata was soft with a generous amount of onions. The gravy was the best I’ve ever had - most shops have basic lackluster …
