Michelin Bib Gourmand lor mee with thick, starchy gravy at Tiong Bahru
Lor Mee 178 is a celebrated hawker stall at Tiong Bahru Market that earned Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition from 2016 to 2019 for its rendition of the classic Singapore lor mee. The dish is defined by its thick, starchy braising gravy ladled over a bed of yellow noodles, topped with an assortment of ingredients that typically include ngoh hiang, fried fish, braised egg, and crispy fritters that soften in the rich sauce. What sets Lor Mee 178 apart is the depth and balance of its gravy, which delivers a complex savouriness with hints of five-spice and vinegar, achieving the delicate equilibrium that lor mee enthusiasts seek. Diners can customise their bowls with added chilli, garlic, and vinegar to taste. The stall has been a fixture at Tiong Bahru Market for years, serving the neighbourhood community and drawing lor mee aficionados from across the island. Despite its Michelin accolade, the stall maintains humble hawker prices, embodying the spirit of affordable excellence that the Bib Gourmand represents.Operating Hours

Their specialty is the shark nugget but I usually just order the normal noodles with the fried stuff. The taste is good and still the same standard. Be prepared to queue if you want to eat this.
