The fried Hokkien Mee is quite good, with the wet broth. Considered generous these days for a $5 portion. Always long queue to buy.

Hawker stall at Whampoa Makan Place frying up traditional Hokkien mee with prawns and pork broth.
Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee is a hawker stall at Whampoa Makan Place dedicated to serving one of Singapore's most beloved noodle dishes. The stall prepares Hokkien mee the traditional way, stir-frying a mix of yellow noodles and thick bee hoon in a robust prawn and pork stock until the noodles are tender and deeply flavoured. Each serving is topped with fresh prawns, sliced pork, squid, and crispy pork lard bits, accompanied by a home-made sambal that adds a fiery kick. The cooking technique requires patience and skill, as the broth must be absorbed gradually into the noodles to achieve the desired texture and depth of flavour. Whampoa Makan Place provides a no-frills, authentic hawker setting where regulars return time and again for a dependable plate of comfort food. The stall is a testament to the enduring appeal of traditional Hokkien mee done right, without shortcuts or compromise.Based on 517 Google reviews

Long queue but well worth it. Queue moves fast too, they have a very efficient ordering system. Noodles are on the wetter side, but full of flavour and wok hei. I like that they give cut chilli as well. Definitely worth the wait.
