Iconic kaya toast brand at Suntec City serving traditional Singapore breakfast since 1944.
Ya Kun Kaya Toast at Suntec City carries on a tradition that dates back to 1944, when the original stall was founded at a coffee shop along Telok Ayer Street. Today, Ya Kun is one of Singapore's most recognised names for kaya toast, serving thin, crisp slices of bread toasted over charcoal, spread with fragrant coconut kaya and a generous slab of cold butter. The traditional breakfast set pairs the toast with soft-boiled eggs seasoned with soy sauce and white pepper, alongside freshly brewed coffee or tea. The Suntec City outlet extends this heritage experience to one of Singapore's busiest commercial and convention districts. Over the decades, Ya Kun has expanded across the island and internationally while preserving the core recipes and preparation methods that made it a household name. For visitors and locals alike, a Ya Kun breakfast remains one of Singapore's most iconic culinary experiences, offering a simple yet deeply satisfying taste of the nation's food heritage.Based on 360 Google reviews

For a Singaporean heritage brand, this was a shocking level of service given to us today. If I can give 0 stars I would. The service was already mediocre when we came in at 7.45pm, because the guy told us we have to finish eating by 8pm. He sounded very impatient that we chose to dine in at that time. Much to our horror, the food was served on the serving tray WITHOUT a plate. My order was also taken wrongly as I ordered butter sugar toast (another item) and they keyed in kaya butter. I had to inform the staff immediately in case they prepared the wrong item. It wasn't even a busy time as we are the only customers ordering then. I feel that they should have just said they don't allow dine-in beyond 7.45pm next time if they're so rushed and cannot even provide a decent level of service.

basic is as basic does. otak-otak is ok taste-wise, but would benefit from more liveliness and bounce.
