Chinatown Complex shuts 16 and 17 November. Maxwell waits until 14 December.

Chinatown Complex shuts 16 and 17 November. Maxwell waits until 14 December.

Chinatown Complex closes Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 November 2026 for the National Environment Agency's fourth-quarter wash. Tiong Bahru Market closes the same Monday. Maxwell waits until Monday 14 December. Amoy Street Food Centre is listed for 12 and 13 December. Those dates come from NEA's 2026 dataset on data.gov.sg, not from a blog roundup.

This is a one or two day spring clean, not the three-month R&R Plus that took Chinatown Complex offline earlier in 2026. The cooked-food floor, the wet market, and the drinks stalls all shut. Stall rest days still apply when the building reopens. Hong Lim already had its Q4 window, 5 to 7 October, so it is the Chinatown option that is already done.

Monday 16 November hits two floors at once

If your Saturday circuit is chwee kueh at Tiong Bahru then claypot rice at Smith Street, do not stack both on 16 November. Tiong Bahru Market at 30 Seng Poh Road is listed for that Monday only, 83 cooked-food stalls and 259 market stalls. Chinatown Complex at Blk 335 Smith Street is the larger hole: 226 cooked-food stalls and 477 market stalls, shut through Tuesday 17 November.

Walk to Maxwell instead. 1 Kadayanallur Street, 103 stalls, Maxwell MRT Exit 2. Tian Tian will still have a queue. That is normal. People's Park Food Centre on the ground floor of Blk 32 New Market Road stays open those two days. Its own wash is 7 and 8 December. Amoy Street, 134 stalls in the National Development Building annex on Telok Ayer Street, is open until mid-December.

Little India and Bugis share a later pair. Tekka Centre at Blk 665 Buffalo Road and Albert Centre at Blk 270 Queen Street are both listed 30 November to 1 December. Plan wet-market fish for another morning that weekend. North Bridge Road Market, 861 North Bridge Road, is a one-day close on 16 November, the same Monday as Chinatown Complex and Tiong Bahru.

December in the CBD, Newton, and Chinatown

Office lunch takes the next hit. Amoy Street Food Centre closes Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December. Maxwell closes the Monday after that, 14 December, one day only. So the weekday move is simple: 12 and 13 December eat at Maxwell, 14 December eat at Amoy. Do not try both buildings on the same wrong day.

Newton Food Centre at 500 Clemenceau Avenue North closes with People's Park and Adam Road Food Centre on 7 and 8 December. Newton is 83 stalls and the one tourists still treat as supper. Adam Road is 32 stalls by the Botanic Gardens edge, BBQ seafood and nasi lemak, not an Orchard mall. Market Street Hawker Centre inside CapitaSpring is listed 26 and 27 December, 56 stalls, the CBD option after Christmas.

Tanjong Pagar Plaza Blk 6 is 17 to 19 December. Zion Riverside at 70 Zion Road, opposite Great World, is 2 and 3 December. Beo Crescent, the small Tiong Bahru neighbour, is 14 and 15 December, overlapping Maxwell's Monday. Berseh Food Centre on Jalan Besar is 14 to 16 December. Pek Kio on Cambridge Road is a single day, 21 December.

What the list does not do

NEA's announcements page currently flags longer Repairs and Redecoration at Clementi West, Toa Payoh Lorong 7, and Changi Village. Those are not this map. Do not mark Maxwell or Chinatown Complex as permanently closed. A wash is a wash. Joint Zaobao reporting in January 2026 still had Chinatown Complex's larger renovation in planning, with stallholders pushing a 2027 start. That is a different job from 16 November.

The dataset can move. Town-council centres sometimes shift a day. Check the live table on data.gov.sg before you drag someone to Smith Street for vegetables on a Monday.
