Tai Cheong Bakery's 11th Singapore shop is at ION Orchard #B4-45/46, opposite Awfully Chocolate and beside Daiso, on the same basement food floor as Food Republic. The Hong Kong bakery is marking ten years in Singapore. The official site now lists the ION address and the 8998 1954 line. CNA938 spent a 1 September episode on the outlet with Timothy Han, Tai Cheong Singapore's business development manager, talking through savoury tarts, cookies, and bottled milk tea.
This is a takeaway bakery counter, not the Holland Village cha chaan teng. You buy tarts, buns, cookies, and a bottle of tea. You do not sit down for macaroni soup. If you want the full Tai Cheong cafe menu, Holland Village is still the only dine-in room.
The first savoury tarts Tai Cheong has sold in Singapore
Two tarts exist only at ION, both $4. The Lo Mai Kai tart puts glutinous rice chicken filling into the cookie crust the brand has used since the 1950s. Zaobao and 8world both treated it as a local joke that works, lo mai kai in a Hong Kong tart shell. The Baked Scallop and Egg White Truffle Tart is the richer one, scallop and truffle in the same crust. Tai Cheong's Facebook copy called these a first for the Singapore business. Sweet egg tarts remain on the tray. Do not skip them. The cookie crust is still the reason the brand has a queue.
The ION shop is the only place in Singapore selling those two savoury tarts. Other outlets keep the usual egg tarts, bolo buns, and chicken pies. If you came from Tampines or JEM for the lo mai kai tart, you came to the right basement.
Kamcha in a bottle, and four new cookies islandwide
Kamcha Hong Kong Style Milk Tea is $3.80, bottled, Ceylon black tea and evaporated milk. 8world called it a cha chaan teng drink you can carry up to Orchard Road. It is an ION exclusive in the launch write-ups. The cookie collection is not. Ember hazelnut purple sweet potato, Roast coffee, Bloom green pea, and Luxe cashew sell at every Singapore Tai Cheong for $18 a bottle. An opening promo in June sold them at $10 with $10 spent, ION only, 17 to 30 June. That window is closed. Pay $18 now, or skip them.
Tai Cheong started in Hong Kong in 1954. The Singapore partnership with Food People opened pop-ups in Takashimaya in 2016, then a permanent Takashimaya counter, then Holland Village. ION is shop eleven. It sits on B4, the floor people already use for cheap meals under ION. A $4 savoury tart plus a $3.80 tea is a different ticket from Osteria Mozza two floors up. Use both if you have the afternoon.
How to find it without wandering B4
Enter ION, go to basement 4, look for Daiso, then the bakery beside it. Makan Warrior's August post put it opposite Awfully Chocolate. Orchard MRT exits into the mall. Opening hours follow the ION food floor. Confirm on the day, mall F&B last orders move. The counter is takeaway. There is no table service.
